It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol at the age of 82 in Halifax on March 25, 2023. Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Kind and warm-hearted, Carol loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. She had a passion for bowling and especially enjoyed card nights with her besties Louise and Bobbi. Carol also enjoyed taking train and bus trips across Canada and the US. She would also jump at the chance to go for a ride around the bustling city of Halifax with her son and daughter-in-law.

Born on January 13, 1941, she was a daughter of the late William Clyde Hawes and Pearl Verge.

Carol leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, Melvin LeRoy; son William LeRoy; beloved daughter-in-law, Dorothy; adoring granddaughter, Natasha (Kalin Paul); and precious great-grandchildren, Kashius and Elias. She is also survived by her sisters, Elsie Currie, Lorraine Fulcher (Bob), and Darlene Hawes; as well as her brother, William Hawes Sr. (Beth); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Charlie Hawes.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held at a later date. Rest in peace, Carol, knowing that you will be forever loved and missed.
