Sun City West - Louis A Marano, 80, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2023, at home. He was born on September 23, 1942, to Arthur and Clementine Marano of Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from St. Joe's Catholic HS and obtained his Associate Degree from Kent State. He met the love of his life, Holly, while working at Union Commerce Bank in Cleveland Ohio. They were married on December 9 and blessed with three beautiful children. He served in the Army National Guard as a Specialist Four, 194th Engineer Company (Panel Bridge) for six years. He and his family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1976. He loved his family and was proud of their many accomplishments. He always had great advice and a good joke to share. He was well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.


Lou had a love for sports, especially baseball, but also football, basketball, hockey, bowling, Nascar and Indy car racing. He coached youth basketball for the Eastlake Midget ABA, winning a championship in 1976. He also won a Brunswick bowling championship in 87-88. He played city ball for Eastlake when he was 15 years old and softball in Sun City Grand 50 years later! Lou would often win the Sports Trivia games at Sun City Grand and was not above a little trash talk while doing so.


Lou is survived by his wife, Holly, and his children John Marano, Vince (Sara) Marano and Heather (Jason) Wendt. He was blessed with many grandchildren; Tanner (Savannah), Dominic, Madison, Abby, Amanda, Anna and Bennett, and 1 great - grandaughter Everly.
