<p>Gertrude Rae Kempt </p><p>Sydney Mines </p><p><br> It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom Gertrude Rae Kempt on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Northside Community Guest Home.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;Born in Sydney Mines on February 8, 1938, she was the daughter of Thomas and Jenny (Cameron) MacDonald. &nbsp;Rae was the last surviving member of her family.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;Mom was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Women’s League. &nbsp;She enjoyed bowling in the Sunday night league and was a member of the TOPS group in Sydney Mines.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;She is survived by her daughters Cathy Geneau, and Charlene Forrest( Collie) and son Derrick(Kimberly), grandchildren Jason, Rae-Anne, Nicole, Sarah, Sean, Stephen, Makayla, and great-grandchild Sophia.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;Rae was predeceased by her husband, Charles (Bucky) Kempt in 2010, son-in-law Edward, twin daughters, granddaughter Renee, brothers Cecil, Dan, and Tom, sisters Mary, Florence, and Lydia.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;As per mom’s request, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 11 am at the J. M. Jobes funeral home.<br> We would like to thank the staff of the Northside Guest Home for the excellent care provided to our mom while she was there. </p><p>Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com </p>

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom Gertrude Rae Kempt on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
  Born in Sydney Mines on February 8, 1938, she was the daughter of Thomas and Jenny (Cameron) MacDonald.  Rae was the last surviving member of her family.
  Mom was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Women’s League.  She enjoyed bowling in the Sunday night league and was a member of the TOPS group in Sydney Mines.
