<p><p>Betty Ann Wingate, of Kitty Hawk, NC, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2023. Born on October 6, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Nathan C. Gorsuch and Mary E. Kahl Gorsuch.</p><p><br></p><p>Betty was predeceased by her husband, Richard Wayne Wingate, daughter Susan Wingate, son-in-law Michael Warnstedt, and brother Robert Gorsuch. She is survived by her son, Doug Wingate and his wife, Alicia, of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, and her daughter, Kathleen Wingate of Sarasota, Florida. Betty was the proud grandmother of Jonathan Wingate and his wife, Arleen, Cara Wingate and her significant other, Jonathan Williams, Lauren Limberopoulos and her significant other, Ryan Gilbertson, Christen Walker and her husband, Steven, and Stephen Limberopoulos. She was also the loving great-grandmother to Connor Merta, Abigail Walker, and Natalie Williams.</p><p><br></p><p>Betty's 25-year career in the banking industry demonstrated her commitment to hard work and dedication. She also served her community through her involvement with various associations and organizations. Betty's love for her family always came first, and she cherished the time she spent with them, creating lasting memories.</p><p><br></p><p>An animal lover, Betty found joy in the company of her pets and the many animals she encountered throughout her life. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she took on the role of a Cub Scout den mother and was always there to support her children and grandchildren in their activities.</p><p><br></p><p>Betty's love for the outdoors was evident in her passion while walking through gardens and exploring the beauty of nature. She believed that there was always something new to discover and enjoyed sharing those experiences with her family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Loving, kind, and selfless are words that best describe Betty. Her warm and caring nature touched the lives of many, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Betty's memory to an animal rescue organization or charity of your choice, in recognition of her love for animals and her desire to make a difference in their lives.</p><p><br></p><p>A celebration of Betty's life will be held at a later date, allowing her family and friends to come together and honor the remarkable woman she was.
