<p><br> Gertrude Mary Macreadie Fisse, age 96, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Baton Rouge surrounded by her family. Born October 3, 1926 in Biloxi, MS to John Robert Macreadie and Gertrude White Macreadie. On April 17, 1948 she married Ledger J. Fisse, Sr., at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church (Holy Rosary) in New Orleans. She was a homemaker and beloved mother to ten children: Gertrude F. Juneau (Paul), Ledger J. Fisse, Jr., (Sharon), Pauline F. DeMoss (Stan), Jules J. Fisse (Carrie), John Macreadie Fisse (Theresa), Anthony A. Fisse (Karen), Michael D. Fisse (Alison), Suzanne F. Trapp (Russell), Stephen D. Fisse (Beryl) and Gregory M. Fisse (Margaret). Also survived by her beloved 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ledger J. Fisse, Sr., her sister Jacqueline Macreadie Cummins, son-in-law Stanley J. DeMoss, great-granddaughter Aubrey Lynn Fisse and great-great granddaughter Amelia Noelle Goodwin.<br> <br> Mrs. Fisse was a devout traditional Catholic. Since 1978 she was an active parishioner and attended the Tridentine Mass at Our Lady of Grace, a SSPX Chapel, in Kenner, Louisiana. For many years she taught catechism, assisted in the training of altar boys and volunteered as personal chef to numerous priests of the Parish. Mrs. Fisse served as a docent at the Vatican Exhibit of the 1984 World’s Fair held in New Orleans. She also volunteered at the Pontifical Mass celebrated by Pope John Paul II on September 12, 1987 at the New Orleans Lakefront.<br> <br> Mrs. Fisse’s reputation as a fabulous cook extended worldwide, due to the many international priests she was so honored to serve. Her recipes were coveted by the select few of her children and daughters-in-law that she shared them with. She was a self taught artist and seamstress, voracious reader and avid Jeopardy fan. She painted individual portraits as well as numerous religious paintings that grace many of the homes of her children and grandchildren. She designed and made wedding gowns for her three daughters and four of her granddaughters. Over the years, she made numerous dance recital costumes, pageant gowns, special occasion dresses and costumes. She was a much-loved mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She will be missed by all that were graced to know her.<br> <br> Services will be Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace Chapel, 2552 Kentucky Avenue, Kenner, LA with family visitation from 9AM-10AM. Friends are invited to attend from 10AM- Noon. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Noon with a grave side burial to follow at the Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA. Garden of Memories in charge of arrangements.<br> <br> &nbsp; </p>
