Ernesto “Erning” Gazmen Azcueta, 81, of Lahaina, transitioned peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends and in the loving care of Hospice Maui. Erning is survived by his wife Norma Rosetes Azcueta, two beautiful daughters: Aprilyn Azcueta and Heather (Vijay Maulit) with only grand-daughter Meilani Maulit.

Erning was born in the Cabugao, IIocos Sur, Philippines on August 23, 1941 to Anastacia Gazmen(Deceased) and Benigno Azcueta(Deceased). Erning was the second born of four children, Jaime (Soledad) Azcueta, Teresita (Clemens) Savella, and Roy (Alicia) Azcueta. Erning moved to Maui in 1971 where he worked, and retired, as an Irrigator for the Pioneer Mill Company.

Visitations will be held at Maria Lanakila Church in Lahaina on Wednesday March 29, 2023 starting at 5pm with mass at 7pm. A celebration of life will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary on Thursday March 30, 2023 from 830am with services starting at 10am. Burial to follow at Valley Isle Memorial Park located in Haiku, Maui; 3454 Hana Highway.
