Scott Andrew Creitz Obituary

Scott Creitz, 52, of Lewiston, died Sunday, March 19, 2023, at his home following a long battle with diabetes and subsequently kidney failure. Mountain View Funeral Home of Lewiston is in charge of arrangements.

Scott was born August 17,1970 in Colorado Springs, CO to James Parker and Shirley (Stanton) Creitz. He graduated from Hardin MT high school in 1989.

Scott met Hope (Rudig) in July 1989 at the Seventhday Adventist church in Billings MT. They became fast fierce friends and on July 26, 1992 they were married in the same youth chapel where they met. They were inseparable from day 1, and would go one to have 3 boys and 2 grandchildren.

Scott had many careers over his life from chef, financial counselor/ auditor to finally medical insurance expert. He was electronically trained and certified to maintain and repair computer equipment, which he preferred as a hobby. Scott loved flight simulator and always wanted to be a pilot.

Hope states: Scott was/is/and forever will be the love of my life, my savior, and my best friend. We discovered that my heart rate is abnormally slow, and Scott’s was abnormally fast. When we got stressed, we only had to hold each other to calm our hearts. Scott taught us all what unconditional love was, and how to show others that love. He was the father our sons deserved. He taught our sons how to be truly loving, compassionate, goofy, and supportive men to their wives and children.

He loved unconditionally, whole heartedly, and with passion unparalleled on this earth. He was a fierce friend to all both human and animal alike. His smile melted hearts, and his laugh was contagious. His voice was music to all. His undying devotion to our family created heaven on earth for us all. Sure he was stubborn and headstrong, but that’s one of the reasons we love him.

When he 10 years old he was struck by a car nearly dying. When he was 28 he was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis due to untreated diabetes, and fought his way back to life. He had his first mini-stroke at 30 surviving with little side affects, and at 42 was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure, causing him to be placed on dialysis at 50. Over the last year he became crippled due to kidney disease, multiple septic events, and numerous mini-strokes. He struggled and fought bravely remaining optimistic through these injuries/illnesses bravely remaining our goofy, light in the darkness.

His boys and grandchildren meant the world to him and he wanted to live so much longer just to keep us from feeling the pain life is without him.

We are thankful that he is no longer suffering. Forever in our hearts, never forgotten, always.

He was proceeded in death by his mother Shirley Ann Stanton Creitz. He is survived by his wife Hope Rebecca Creitz, son Andrew Caleb Creitz wife Taylor and granddaughter Aria Noelle Creitz, son Daniel Patrick Creitz wife Alexandria Scalise and grandson Griffin Alexander Creitz, son Nathan Michael Creitz wife Jenna, his brother James A Creitz wife Randi , Sister Ann Creitz Carpio husand Fidel, brother Steven Creitz wife Dawn, brother Randall Creitz wife Kristie, Father James Parker Creitz and wife Ronna Fifer. 7 nieces and 10 nephews.
