Obituary

Patricia C. Trierweiler was welcomed into the arms of our Lord and her beloved husband James on March 20, 2023, exactly 21 years to the date of his passing. Pat was born on January 4th, 1936 to Ervin and Irene Graff. She attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1953. On May 12, 1956 she was united in marriage to James L. Trierweiler.

While her beloved family always came first, she enjoyed 16 years working for the late former Congressman and Secretary of Defense Melvin R Laird. Her time working in Congress paved the way for others while allowing her to witness history, hosting dignitaries with her famous dumpling soup, and setting an example for her family. She was immensely proud of the work their office did, bringing some of the most historic and powerful individuals to Marshfield.

Later she worked as a legal secretary and then occasionally for Weyerhaeuser. Mom was not afraid to work hard alongside Dad with their many extra businesses. Her organization and attention to detail amazed us. She also received her real estate license and was an active volunteer for St Joseph Partners and Soup or Socks, always serving others and staying busy. She especially enjoyed her years up North on Solberg Lake and the many adventures traveling with Dad. She enjoyed Performing Arts - attending many musicals, concerts and plays. In addition, she loved a good hand of cribbage and played endless hours of board games with her grandchildren. But mostly, she loved having her family gather together.

After the love of her life passed away in 2002, she continued to devote herself to her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved watching them participate in all their pursuits. Her pride and legacy are that of her children and grandchildren. Pat believed in elevating the family in each generation in both success and principles which she accomplished. Pat was truly a matriarch.

With her deep faith, she prayed the rosary regularly for those she deeply loved, and was prepared to meet our Lord and Savior. She was a life-long member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and with her last moments with us, recited the Hail Mary. Patricia was met in Heaven by her husband, James L Trierweiler, her parents Ervin and Irene Graff, her sister Mary Engel, brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry Heiting, Ellen and David Huber, Elaine and Joe Fleisner, as well as many other dear family and friends. Pat was at peace; she was content with her time on this earth.
