<p>Mrs. Brenda Oliphant, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 18, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 3 PM in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.</p><p><br></p><p>Brenda was born in Clinton, TN. She obtained an Associate of Arts Degree from Pitt Community College and then was awarded her B.S. in Sociology from ECU. She retired from the state as a Job Placement Specialist with Services for the Blind and also served as rehab secretary for the same state organization. She loved animals, especially her cat “Sunny Boy.”</p><p><br></p><p>Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Oliphant, Jr.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her&nbsp;daughter, Tanya Oliphant of Greenville;&nbsp;sons, Stuart Oliphant of Greenville, and&nbsp;Charles Byerly of Nashville, TN;&nbsp;grandsons, Johnathan and Stephen Byerly; and&nbsp;sisters, Betty Langston of Harriman, TN and&nbsp;Linda Gaylord of Winterville.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the&nbsp;Humane Society of Eastern Carolina, 3520 Tupper Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.</p><p><br></p>

Mrs. Brenda Oliphant, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
