Iryna Kusiak, age 59, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17, 2023.  Born in Zhitomir, Ukraine, Iryna emigrated to the United States in 2017 where she settled in Brooklyn, N.Y. She worked as a home care attendant for the HDA CARE in New York City, a position she proudly held for more than 6 years. 

Iryna treasured spending quality time with her family and friends and dining out at restaurants both here and in the Ukraine.  In her spare time she took great joy in shopping and relaxing at home watching classic movies and comedy sitcoms on TV. 

Iryna will not only be remembered for her warmth and compassion towards others, but also for the way she embraced life with passion, optimism, and positivity.  She will be missed beyond measure but her memory will remain in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her. 

Loving daughter of the late Andrey and Olga (Scherbakova Kusyak).  A devoted sister and aunt, she is survived by her sister, Yana Tserkun, and her husband, Igor Heifetz; and her nephew, Igor Tserkun, and his fiancé, Karey McHugh.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, 20 E. 22nd St., Bayonne, on Wednesday, March 22, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Sophony Royer, of St. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery in Jersey City.
