Dorsie Steward was the youngest of two children, born on April 25, 1923, in Humboldt, Tennessee.

Dorsie's Christian foundation was founded early in life. She affirmed her Christian faith under the leadership of Reverend W. J. Washington at Greater Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and continued to be a faithful member of Greater Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church serving under the leadership of Dr. David Garvin. Dorsie was an active member in church. She served on Committee Number 3, she was a committed Sunday Church School member, and was often called upon to assist in leading hymns during the devotional service or any other worship service at Greater Bethlehem.

Dorsie was a kind, loving, and gentle person, who loved to sing and cook.

Dorsie made her transition from labor to reward on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in her home with her son by her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother.

Dorsie is survived by her loving and devoted son, Willie B. Williams; two granddaughters, Melody Thomas, and Selena Porter; 4 great grandchildren, Jabari Bellemy, Yamoni Williams, Christian Thomas and Autumn Megan Wollenzien; niece, Patricia King and Grandniece, Valencia Burton; goddaughter, Beverly McLendond; and a host of relatives, friends, and the entire congregation of Greater Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
