Bernice Powell Busby, 97, of Kirbyville died Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 22, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery,  Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born December 10, 1925 in San Augustine County to  Dewey F. Powell and Azzie Lee (Letney) Powell, she had lived in Kirbyville most of her life and was a former custodian and cafeteria worker at Kirbyville CISD.

She is survived by children, Maxine McLeod and Bill of Kirbyville; Jewel Woodard and Johnny of Kirbyville; Euleen Smith and Lindel of Kirbyville; Marilyn Stephens and Milton of Kirbyville; Laura Kelly and Steve of Jasper; and Rhonda "Pero" Bickford of Kirbyville; grandchildren, Valorie Dixson, Gina Wood, Becky Guidry, Connie Powers, Annette Carranza, Josh Woodard, Todd Y;Barbo, Marlin Kirbow, Jr., Heather Fernadez, Allen Kirbow, Roger Stephens, Kim Villegas, Jason Stephens; 32 great grandchildren; 33 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
