Bonnie Marie Bryant Genest

Bonnie Marie Bryant Genest, a native and resident of Saraland passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at her home. She was 86.

Bonnie was one of the last charter members of Shiloh Baptist Church. She graduated in 1952 from Vigor High School. Bonnie was an accomplished business woman, an amazing mother, and grandma who loved her family, her Church and her friends. Bonnie was born and raised on a farm, right where she lived all her life.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 68+ years: Edward N. Genest; her children: Pamela Genest Miller and Edward Norman Genest, Jr; 7 grandchildren: Brandon Miller (Nicole), Sarah Mattson, Christine Rollo (Lynn), Jessica Roberts (Rollo), Shannon G. Baudry, Amanda Waller (Chris), and Katelynn Castro (Milton); and all her great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents: James Artis and Bessie Marie Bryant; beloved daughter: Sandra Marie Rollo; and sisters: Nell Stokes (Winston), Earline Beahn (Harold), Ernie Reece (Edward).

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church or your favorite charity in memory of Bonnie Marie Genest.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23rd at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM also at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Following the service there will be a procession to Shiloh Baptist Church for a Celebration of Bonnie’s life and a luncheon. There will be fun stories, DVDs, and videos. Bonnie was all about family. She loved the holidays and coming together for meals and fun times. Please join us in celebration and fellowship. All are welcome to attend. 

Interment will be on Friday, March 24th at 10:00 AM at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Brandon Miller, Dennis Blakely, Ronnie Barnes, Dave Conner, Jason Allen, Milton Castro, Chris Walker and Bobby Cooner.
