Obituary for Kevin Laverne Van Liew

Kevin Laverne Van Liew, 59, of East Ridge, Tennessee passed away March 17, 2023 at his residence in East Ridge, Tennessee. He was born on November 22, 1963 in Grand Rapid, Michigan to Gerald and Sharon (Robinson) Van Liew. Kevin was dedicated to serving and assisting his fellow man. He was a Private Investigator, Security Officer and an Intelligence Officer. He was also a firearm enthusiast. He was a lifelong mechanic and owned a business with his brother. In Kevin's spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and fulfilled his musical interest by playing the accordion, harmonica and the musical saw. Kevin also had a love for animals. He was of the Jewish Faith and he will be missed by his family and loved ones.

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.”

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Orva (Hawkins) Robinson and Stuart and Geraldine (Larson) Van Liew. His brother Kyle Van Liew, his father Gerald Van Liew, and daughter Lynae Rogers.

Kevin is survived by his mother Sharon Van Liew, his wife Sandra Van Liew-Rogers, and his son Nicholas (Samantha) Rogers, his loved grandson Dustin. Kevin was also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will have a Private Memorial at a later date. Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in the form of donations to the East Ridge Tennessee Police Department.
