Funeral services for Joe Willie Washington, 89, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe with Dr. Mike Holloway officiating. Interment will follow at McKnight Cemetery, Holly Ridge, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Joe was born in Crowder, Mississippi and passed away March 18, 2023 in Monroe, Louisiana. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 26 years. He was Owner/Operator of Washington Construction, and owned Forest Park Mobile Home Park. Joe was a member of Ouachita Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by daughter Barbara “Barbie” Washington; wife Hazel Washington; grandsons Brady and Billy Joe Washington; granddaughter Crystal Washington.

Joe is survived by his wife, Helen Holton Washington; children Bill Washington and wife Lynn, James Washington and wife Sally, Dorothy Bloechl, Dempsey Washington and wife Annette, George Washington and wife Danna, Janie Wren and husband Dewayne; stepson, Ricky Eads and wife Melissa; brothers, David Oswalt and wife Diane, Earl Oswalt and wife Becky; sisters, Mattie Yarbough and husband Ronnie, Evie Howe and husband Ronnie; fourteen grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Washington, Josh Bryan, Dempsey Bloechl, Joe Bloechl, Michael Washington and James Washington. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Pickman, Brian Washington and Casey Washington.
