Betty Joan Cogan
<p> Betty Joan Cogan 75 of Harrison passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Betty was born April 14, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Leon Fowler Wilber and Leota Florence (Clark) Wilber. </p><p> On June 4, 1983 in Novi, Michigan, Betty was united in marriage to Mr. Dennis Gordon Cogan. Mrs. Cogan had resided in Harrison since 2003, coming from Wixom, Michigan. She retired from Kroger Corporate Headquarters after fifteen years of dedicated service. Betty attended United Brethren Church-Harrison, she was a member of the 700 Club, enjoyed volunteering at hope in Harrison and sending get-well cards to her family, friends and church family. Betty loved floral gardening, swimming, fishing, water skiing and boating, playing the accordion and organ and held a great passion and love for her dogs.</p><p> Surviving Betty is her loving husband of thirty-three years, Mr. Dennis G. Cogan of Harrison, four daughters; Leona Santure and husband Larry of Taylor, Michigan, Dawn Keyandwy of Westland, Michigan, Jennifer Pierson of Westland and Jill Parrino also of Westland, one son, Richard Pierson of East Jordan, Michigan, one daughter in law, Jody Keyandwy of Harrison, one son in law, Jeff Young of Hamburg Township, Michigan, thirty two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Doris McHugh and husband Bill of Florida, one brother, Leon Wilber and wife Teresa of California, plus many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cogan was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ronald Keyandwy, one daughter, Linda Young and one brother, Jim Wilber. </p><p> Funeral services honoring Mrs. Cogan will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Pastor Wendy Kindel officiating. Family and friends are encouraged to gather for a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. and 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial gifts in memory of Betty may be considered to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital-in Memory of her daughter; Linda Young.
