TROY, NY – Ramona Lee Perez-Randall, 42, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy with her family at her side.

Ramona was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 15, 1980, the beloved daughter of Salvador Perez and the late Diana Maldonado. She was raised in Brooklyn and graduated from Norman Thomas High School in Manhattan in 1998.

During her time in New York City, she worked in corporate media doing commercial billing at Rockefeller Center. She later met her husband, Rodney Randall, on their first date at Rockefeller Center in 2002.

She moved to Upstate New York, settling in Troy in 2005 with Rodney and her children. 18 years later, Ramona and Rodney are homeowners in South Troy.

She started crocheting as a teenager as a means to provide for her oldest child. She later founded Ramona’s Crochations, a crafting business which included crochet and stone jewelry. In 2022, at a transitional point in her life, she obtained certifications to become a life coach and founded Power of Women, LLC, in which she promoted self-love, women empowerment and healing from childhood trauma.

She was employed by Maximus, Inc. in Albany as a fair hearing coordinator circa 2011, where she made lifelong friends. She then worked as a family peer advocate for Vanderhyden, Inc. Her most recent employment was as a call center specialist for DiRAD Technologies in Clifton Park.
