Dawn Louise Mitchell 66 of Clearfield, Pa. died Friday March 17, 2023 at Penn Highlands Dubois

She was born on December 16, 1956 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Ken Hummel Sr and R. Louise Hummel 

She attended Van-Far High School in Vandalia. Mo

Dawn had a love of classic movies, bonus if it included her all-time favorite, Humphrey Bogart and music of all kinds. She enjoyed learning to knit and crochet in recent years. Camping was her most favorite past time, running very close to cooking and baking for family and friends. She loved her family above all else especially her grandchildren. Her cherished friends were plentiful. She was simply an amazingly beautiful human.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father. Maternal grandmother Edna Unch and maternal grandfather Samuel Unch both of Clearfield. An uncle, Sam Unch of Clearfield. 

She is survived by her husband Jim Mitchell of Clearfield. Two daughters, Ginger (Patrick) Sartain of Hartsburg, Mo and Amanda (Ryan) Hummel of Ashland, Mo. One son Joseph (Mariam) Abu-Higleh of Dubia. Brother Ken (Kerri) Hummel of Woodland, PA, brother Douglas Hummel of Brockport,PA, sister Anita Hummel of Columbia, MO, one step daughter Carrie (Michael) Gahagan and family of Knoxville, TN. Beloved Jaeden, Jackson, Payton, Mackenzie, Emma, Cole and Nasir. One great grandson Brecken. Nephews Brandon (Angie), Brian, Bradley, Devin Hummel, Curt Ireland and niece Kaitlin Ireland. Along with several aunts, uncles and a host of cousins. 

Services will be Wednesday March 22, 2023 at Riverview Bible Church, on Third Street in Clearfield, PA. Visitation open to anyone from 10-11 with service starting 11. A private burial for her immediate family will follow that afternoon. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to Clearfield County SPCA.
