Olaf Ruben Raybon
<p>Olaf Ruben Raybon, age 87, of Picayune, MS passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. He was born on November 15, 1935, to Olaf and Gladys Yawn Raybon in Prentiss, MS and attended school in Brookhaven, MS. He married Myrtie Florine "Flo" Raybon on August 18, 1957 and together they had 3 children.</p><p><br></p><p>He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Ruben worked as a wood inspector and plant manager in the wood preserving business. He served as Scoutmaster for Troop 2 in Picayune for many years. His favorite and most rewarding “hobby” was serving as Reserve Police officer for the city of Picayune for over 60 years. After retirement from the wood preserving business he worked for the Pearl River County Sheriff Department.</p><p><br></p><p>He is preceded in death by his parents, Olaf and Gladys Yawn Raybon; and his wife of 65 years, Myrtie Florine "Flo" Raybon.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his son, Michael (Cindy) Raybon; daughters Vicki (Bill) Moran and Tina Hinkle; 7 grandchildren Josh (Candace) Raybon, Kaleb (Kayla) Raybon, Hallie (Buck) Bernard, Erin (Christian) Travis, Lauren (Michael) Montalvo, Will (Brooke) Hinkle and Celeste Hinkle; and 7 great grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>A Funeral Graveside service, officiated by Rev. Joshua Raybon and Dr. Tony Lambert, will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 12:00 pm, with Visitation 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at New Palestine Cemetery in Picayune, MS.</p><p><br></p>Obituary
