<p><br></p><p>Glenn Allen Brown of Java, VA. age 90, died on March 18, 2023 at Gretna Health and Rehabilitation Center.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born February 8, 1933 in Halifax, County to the late Archie Thomas Brown and Ora Maude Shelton Brown.</p><p><br></p><p>He is also predeceased by six brothers; Richard Brown, Harry Brown, Carlton Brown, Stacy Brown, James Thomas Brown, Melvin Lacy Brown and four sisters; Virginia Terry, Janie Ragsdale, Violet Clark, and Garnet Rowland.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Joan Forrest Brown of the residence, one brother, K.B. (Bill) Brown wife (Helen) of Graham, N.C. Also surviving are numerous beloved nieces, nephews and their families.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a retired Tobacco farmer. Also Mr. Brown served as Treasurer of Pittsylvania County the years of 1983 until 1999 at which he retired from this position. He attended First Baptist Church of Riceville.</p><p><br></p><p>In the past, he was known to be an avid Quail hunter. One of his greatest joys was entertaining his family and friends at the Brown Family Red Barn, an old barn that he took pleasure to restore just for entertaining.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral will be held at Norris Chatham Chapel on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 2:00PM with Pastor David Smith officiating. A visitation will follow the funeral service at the Funeral Home.</p><p><br></p><p>The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice or Riceville/Java Volunteer Fire Department P.O. Box 129 Java, VA 24564 or Gretna Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 14 Gretna, VA 24557.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to thank each employee of the Gretna Health and Rehabilitation Center for their professional care and love extended to our family.
