<p>Ethel Maebelle Jones, 73, of Hemingway, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, S.C.</p><p><br></p><p>Ms. Jones was born on September 1, 1949, in Georgetown, S.C., to the late Lewis Benjamin Jones and the late Genevia Cribb Jones. She enjoyed going to church and was a longtime member of Marsh Chapel in Hemingway. The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to her, especially travels to the mountains. She loved raising cats and was especially fond of her favorite, “Tinker.”</p><p><br></p><p>She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Etta Owens (Joey Gray) and Janie Skipper (Wayne); her brothers, Luther Jones (Linda) and Henry Jones (Vickie); many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Tinker.</p><p><br></p><p>Ms. Jones was predeceased in death by a sister, Juanita Haynie; nieces, Kerrie Jones and Madison Alexis Rabon; and a nephew, Ronnie Jones.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 20, 2023, at Freedom Tabernacle Church, 264 Roy Drive, Hemingway, S.C. Officiating will be Reverend Jack Todd and Reverend Wayne Elliott. Burial will take place at Old Field Cemetery, 19761 Choppee Road, Hemingway, S.C.</p><p><br></p><p>There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Young Funeral Home, 210 East George Street, Hemingway, S.C.</p><p><br></p><p>Online condolences may be left at www.young-fh.com</p><p><br></p><p>Young Funeral Home of Hemingway is in charge of the arrangements.
