Gertrude F. Harris, age 53 of Parlin, passed away at her home, with her loving family by her side. Born in Harper City, Maryland, Liberia. She had lived in Perth Amboy for many years and moved to Parlin in 2017. Gertrude was a dedicated Para-Professional at Perth Amboy Public School District, Center for Lifelong Learning, and New Brunswick Middle School for many years. She was a member of the NJEA and a member of the Living Word Family Church in Perth Amboy.

She is predeceased by her father George Forteah.

Surviving are her children Wachen Harris, Miatta Harris, Arthur Harris Jr., her parents Rev. Charles and Cathlyn Roberts and Boynnah “Lucy” Nyepan, her siblings Florence Sirleaf, Georgetta Forteah, Regina Forteah, Rev. S. Johnette Fitzjohn, Felicia Forteah, Denise Roberts, Charles Roberts III, Winston Roberts, Charlyn-Mai Roberts, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Liberia and the United States who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be Friday March 31, 2023 at Living Word Family Church in Perth Amboy, with a burial to follow at Alpine Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin will be Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm.
