Sherri L. (Mellott) Knechtel, 61 of Waynesboro, PA passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 in Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born May 6, 1961 in Everett, PA, daughter of the late Lawrence C. Mellott and A. Darlene (Wenglik) Walters.

On November 6, 1982, she was united in marriage to Frank J. Knechtel who preceded her in death on March 6, 2010.

She is survived by a son, Tyler F. Knechtel and his wife, Ashley of Quincy, PA; two granddaughter, Bristol and Kenzie; two sisters, Janice Horton (Bob) of Saxton, PA and Lisa D. VanDyke (Allen) of Mt. Pleasant, PA; her caregiver, Norma; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Sherri was a 1980 graduate of the Southview High School, Lorain, OH. She worked as a caregiver for many years.

Sherri was kind, loving and enjoyed roller skating, reading, and watching tv. She was of the Protestant faith.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family and a Celebration of Sherri’s Life will be held at a later date.
