Otto R. Obermeier

<p>Otto R. Obermeier, age 94 years, of Ringoes, NJ (Raritan Township) passed away in the early morning on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at his home.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Jersey City, NJ, June 22, 1928, he was the son of the late Otto W. and Eva (Horwedel) Obermeier. He grew up in Jersey City, NJ, and formerly resided in Upper Saddle River, NJ and Parsippany, NJ, before moving to Ringoes in 1995.</p><p><br></p><p>He was employed by Gulf Oil, then became President of Spartan Oil, and was past president of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he was a former member of the 200 Clubs of Hunterdon and Morris County.</p><p><br></p><p>In his spare time, Otto was an avid gardener, his favorite flowers being pink roses. Above all, his family remembers him as the quintessential “family-man”.</p><p><br></p><p>He was predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Alice B. Obermeier, who died in 2015 as well as his siblings, Randy and Shirley Obermeier. Surviving are his three children, Robert H. Obermeier of Mount Laurel, NJ, Stephen W. Obermeier of Somerset, NJ, and Stephanie M. Young of Grafton, WI; and eight grandchildren as well as eight great-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Private graveside services will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Those other than family who would like to attend the graveside or repast are kindly asked to contact the family.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions in Otto’s name may be made to the Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation, 9100 Wescott Dr, Flemington, NJ 08822.
