<p>Stephen Carl Sales passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at his home. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 38 years, Pat, and other close family. </p><p><br></p><p>Steve was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Homer Sales, his mother Vivian Brown Sales, and his brother Jerry Lee Sales. He was one of five children including his brother Rob (Jane), sister Kathy Robertson, his deceased brother Jerry Lee, and David (Terry), and many beloved nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>Steve was also the loving stepfather of Matthew Hanna (Kim). He particularly loved his grandchildren William Hanna and Matthew Hanna with whom he spent many enjoyable hours. They certainly brought so much joy to his life.</p><p><br></p><p>Steve proudly served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He was deployed to Vietnam from August 1970 until May of 1971. After his service as a Marine, he had several interesting jobs. He worked in maintenance for Transylvania County. He worked at Ecusta until its closure. The last job he had was working as facilities manager at Brevard Davidson River Church.</p><p><br></p><p>He loved his family and his dear friends. He always loved music, particularly beach music and the Motown sound. He enjoyed dancing to that music, and he was quite the dancer. He loved to watch all kinds of sports and could often be found watching his favorite teams. </p><p><br></p><p>There will be a Celebration of Life held for Steve on April 2, 2023 from 2:00-5:00 PM at their home at 112 King Street, Brevard. This is a casual gathering for all of our family and friends.
