Michael Lee Bissonnette Obituary

After his consummate valor and unwavering courage, Michael Lee Bissonnette, age 77, of Midland, was liberated from his battle with Parkinson's and Parkinson's related Dementia. He peacefully went to his eternal resting place on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Olson Manor with his daughter and the unwavering staff by his side. He was born to his mother, Hazel Stead, on August 27, 1945, in Bay City, Michigan, followed by his adoption of his definitive adoptive father, Aubrey Bissonnette. He graduated from Bay City Central in 1964. Then after he joined the United States Air Force, where he served with devotion and service beyond the standard, he was nominated Airman of the Quarter while stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam Campaign. After his term in serving the country he loved, he worked for Essexville Electric as an electrician until his retirement.

He had a lifelong passion for music, including sound and lighting productions which motivated him to start his business, Bissonnette Sound and Lighting. He was well-known and respected, and his presence will be greatly missed in the Tri-Cities, including Frankenmuth. The uncountable festivals, events, and celebrations helped establish both of his sons' relationships in the sound community.

He had three children with his former wife, Beatrice Bissonnette (Surowiec), of Poland. Each child held a unique and specific place in their father, Michael's heart. All three surviving children were the light of his life, and he spoke of all with pride. His unparalleled love for his children emanated unto all his grandchildren.

Michael was quiet yet loved to make people laugh. His blue eyes were a staple attribute, and his smile was contagious. The gift he surmountable shared was his unconditional love. All who knew Michael will feel the profound loss of this gift he unselfishly shared.

Michael was shy of three years in meeting his father, Milton Winters of Bay City, who had passed at the age of 90. In 2019 Michael, with the help of his daughter, discovered his unknown biological family. His new-found siblings have welcomed him and his family as their own and know that the father they shared would have loved Michael as he loved them.

Those with relation to, as well as those he loved most, are his surviving children, Artur Bissonnette, Andrew (Adrian) Bissonnette and their family and their children Bailee, Kaden, Morgan and Lilyauna, and Maria (Ian) Hunt and their children, Ayden, Ivy, Fletcher, and Eliasz; siblings, Randy (Pam) Winters, Linda (Al) Bilhimer, Debbie (Bob) Geno, Linda (Robert) Martin, Keith (Pam) Bissonnette, and Todd (Cheryl) Bissonnette; and his special friend Marianne Schempp and her family. He was predeceased by his mother and adoptive father, Hazel (Stead) and Aubrey Bissonnette; birth father, Milton Winters; siblings, David Winters, Joseph Winters, Milan Bissonnette; and JoAnn Bissonnette.

Formidable gratitude is expressed to the staff and caregivers for their reciprocating display of his unconditional love and the unwavering care they provided Michael during his residence.
