Clair W. & Eileen C. Brown Obituary

Eileen C. (Florence) Brown                                         Clair W. Brown "Will"

November 8, 1939 - February 25,2023                      June 22, 1934 - February 28, 2023

During the last week of February, we lost both of our beloved parents. They both passed away peacefully in the home they built together, surrounded by loving family. They passed away just three days apart.

Eileen C. (Florence) Brown was born November 8, 1939, in Fall River, the daughter of the late Mary (Cordeiro) Florence and the late John Florence. Sister of Gail Kilpeck of Plymouth, and the late Delores Arpia and the late Lorraine Michel. Educated in Fall River, Eileen lived in Bridgewater and settled in Lakeville. Eileen worked for Hallmark.

Clair W. Brown "Will" was born June 22, 1934, in Dean Settlement, Nova Scotia, the son off the late Jean (Ross) Brown and the late Daniel Brown. Brother of Carol Morse of New Hampshire and of Stewart Brown. Predeceased by brothers Lewis, James, Donald, and Daniel, as well as sisters Ina, Laura, Phyllis, Nellie, Evelyn, and Jacqueline. Educated in Canada, Will later moved with his family to Bridgewater. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1954 and was deployed to Germany with the 11th Airborne Division. Will worked for George E. Keith Shoe Company.

Will and Eileen met at a company picnic and married on November 27, 1960. From there, they built a life that was centered on family. Eileen was a devoted mother, who took great pride in the successes of her children and grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as Nawn. Eileen was tremendously funny. She was passionate about tennis, Mahjong, bingo, and pickle ball. Will was the hardest working family man perhaps ever to grace this earth. He worked at a shoe factory, but he was also a carpenter, a tinkerer, and a fixer of all things broken. He was perpetually pleasant, always smiling and full of great stories. Will never stopped working and he took great joy in all of his projects, especially building homes for his children.

Will and Eileen leave behind their beloved children Dr. Kevin Brown and his wife Robin of Shirley, Brian Brown of Lakeville and Kimberlee Menard of Lakeville. They also leave their cherished grandchildren Loren, Stephen, Rebecca, Michael, Christopher, Tyler, and Makenzie, and great grandchildren Rylie, Zade, and Gigi.

What is most important to know about Will and Eileen is that they lived a full, rich life devoted to their family, and to one another. Their loving 62-year marriage was an inspiration for all who knew them. It was a love story for the ages. Upon Eileen's passing, Will kissed her cheek and said, "I'll see you later". Always a man of his word, Will did as he promised. He survived just three days without her. May we all know a love like theirs.
