<p>John P. Cannon, 81, a life long resident of Ridgefield Park passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 17, 2023. He was born in the Inwood section of New York. John was a sanitation engineer for the city of New York and a member of Local 79. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Ridgefield Park and a faithful parishioner of St. Francis RC Church, One of John's favorite past times was fishing in Point Pleasant and was an avid New York Giants fan proudly being a 65 year season ticket holder.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Beloved husband for 56 years to Carmel (nee Kelly). Devoted father to John Cannon, Michelle Burke and her husband John and Michael and his wife Janine. Loving grandfather to Emily, Lorcan, Katie, Saoirse, Ashleigh, Blathnat, Kiera, Ryan, Kole, Kolin and Kylie. Dear brother to James Cannon, Rose Finer, Mary Sheehan and the late Eugene Cannon and Anthony Cannon.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Funeral from Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home on Monday at 10:30am. </p><p><br></p><p>A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis RC Church, Ridgefield Park at 11am. Cremation will be private. Visitation Sunday 2-8pm.
