Donald Armand Rousseau

<p>Donald A. Rousseau, 86, entered eternal peace on March 15, 2023. He was the beloved son of Wilfrid and Anna (Auger) Rousseau, born on July 21, 1936 in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, and was educated and schooled in Canada. Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his first wife, Georgette (Belanger), his son, Garry, granddaughter, Mariel Georgette, and all his siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Shirley (Mace) Rousseau of Granby; 2 loving sons, Dr. Andre Rousseau (Tammy) of Granby and Jean Rousseau (Karen); daughter-in-law, Lori Rousseau, wife to Garry, of Chicopee; and stepdaughters, Jennifer Hauschild (Craig) of Chicopee, who he loved like the daughter he never had, and Lorie Turgeon of Spencer. He leaves 4 precious granddaughters, Amie Wozniak, Deanna Rousseau-McAuliffe, Dominique Rousseau, Mattie Lelievre; one grandson, Cameron Rousseau; and 3 great grandchildren, Olivia and Hudson Wozniak and Garry Lelievre. He also leaves 4 precious step granddaughters, Marie and Alyssa Turgeon and Emma and Olivia Hauschild; one step grandson, Eric Puffer; and two step great grandsons, Gavin Cubin and Alexander Curtis.</p><p><br></p><p>Donald was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and a member of the Men’s &amp; Women's Club and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Donald was a hard worker, holding two jobs for many years. He retired in 2001 from Spalding after working for 45 1/2 years of faithful service as a senior millwright. After retirement, Donald loved wood working, repairing small engines, spending time outdoors, riding his John Deer Gator in his backfield, swimming in the pool with his grandkids, and gardening. Donald loved all kinds of sports, but hockey and the Bruins were his favorite.</p><p><br></p><p>Calling hours will be held at the Beers &amp; Story South Hadley Funeral home on March 24th from 9:00-11:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Granby. Burial will follow in West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.</p>
