William Herman Lane, Jr.

<p>William Herman “Pete” Lane, Jr., 77, passed away surrounded by his family Thursday, March 16, 2023. Pete was the son of the late William H. Lane, Sr. and Ethel Virginia Vaughn Lane.<br></p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Pete’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be immediately following at Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro NC.</p><p><br></p><p>Pete is survived by sister, Evelyn Marie Langley and husband, Bruce of Wilson; brother, Bobby Eugene Lane and fiancé, Lisa of Goldsboro; son, Neil, daughter, Lori Ann , and grandson, Spencer . He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Joan Sutton Lane, son, and brother, William Edward Lane.</p><p><br></p><p>Pete worked as an electrician for many years. He loved traveling to the mountains and fishing off the pier. He was a collector of model trains and always drove "a Ford". He enjoyed maintaining a manicured lawn. He attended Pikes Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church until his health declined.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care provided by the staff of Helping Hands of Goldsboro. Love and heartfelt thanks is expressed to "special caregivers" Savanna, Bridgete, and Erica.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice of Wayne County or Pikes Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, Goldsboro, NC.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Service.
