Donald Robert Orewiler Jr., age 82, of Bucyrus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the Carlisle Place in Bucyrus, Ohio.

Donald was born on September 9, 1940, in Bucyrus, to Donald R. and Virginia (Linn) Orewiler Sr., and they preceded him in death. Donald was married to Barbara King on October 9, 1966, and she survives in Bucyrus.

Donald is also survived by his son Corey (Monica) Orewiler of Bucyrus, daughter Gretchen Orewiler of Bucyrus, granddaughter Anna (Carson) Gibson, brother Lee (Kathy) Orewiler of Bucyrus, and his sister Cheryl (Roger) Hieber of Ontario. Brother in laws, Ron (Nancy) Cover of Bucyrus, and Arthur Smith of Milford, Connecticut.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister in laws, Sandra Cover and Linda Smith.

Donald graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1958 and served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. In his early teens he worked at various gas stations and then went to work for United Telephone, and finally Timken Company where he retired after 36 years as an electrician.

Donald was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Bucyrus, and the Bucyrus Eliminators Car Club. He enjoyed working on cars, going to car shows, and going to various types of races, from NASCAR to Sprint. Donald also enjoyed taking trips to Amish Country.

A funeral service for Donald Orewiler Jr. will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Rev. Kenneth Wessler. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus.

Visitations will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, prior to the service at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Eliminators Car Club for the Ronald McDonald’s House, Crawford County Humane Society, or to Alzheimer’s Foundation, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
