Mrs. Virginia Dare Rathbone Patterson, 85, passed away (March 17, 2023) at her residence in Waycross following an extended illness.

She was born in Waynesville, NC to the late David and Geneva Rathbone. She retired from the City of Newport News in Virginia as an office assistant to the treasurer. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the John Wesley Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her late husband of 40 years, John James Patterson; and three brothers, Newell Rathbone, Jerry Rathbone, and Jay David Rathbone.

She is survived by her son, Joby White (Sandy Blair) of Waycross.

A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery.
