Natalie Mary Blanco, 90, passed away on March 15, 2023 in Chesapeake, VA. Born in New Rochelle, NY, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Maria Blanco.
While in High School Natalie helped her parents care for the many foster children that passed through their home. After graduation she worked for N.Y. Telephone Company until retiring in 1985. She then went to work for Iona College from which she retired after 11 years.
Natalie was a devout Roman Catholic and attended the Catholic Church of Saint Mark. Her passions were bowling, traveling and attending plays, but especially spending time with her church friends and shared activities . Over the years, Natalie belonged to the Le Amiche Lodge in New York and Roma Lodge in Virginia Beach. She also belonged to the Red Hats and the Black Hats social groups.
Natalie moved to Virginia in 2008. She first lived at The Retreat at Greenbrier and then Willow Creek Gracious Retirement Living, both in Chesapeake. She thoroughly enjoyed her many friends at both places.
Family surviving Natalie are cousins Grace DiMarzo, Mike DiMarzo and wife Carol, Joe DiMarzo, Ann Williams and husband William, Carmella O'Gorman and husband John. Locally are her foster brother Jose Hernandez and his wife Gloria of Virginia Beach and their family. And foster sister Margaret Miner of Virginia Beach and her family. In addition she has the Ricciardelli family in Canada.
The viewing will be on Wednesday the 22nd from 5-7 PM with a Prayer Service at 6 PM at;

On Thursday the 23rd there will be a Chapel Viewing at 10 AM and a Mass at 11 AM at;

On Friday the 24th the internment and a Prayer Service will be held at 2 PM at; Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Section K, Site 14

It is asked that In lieu of flowers, donations are made to Saint Jude's Children Hospital, in Natalie's name. This was a favorite charity of Natalie's.
