Kevin R. Folty (newicz) 34 of Peru, formerly of Mendota passed away March 17, 2023 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria after a short battle with cancer. His loving family was by his side through it all. Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to assist the family. Visitation will be Tuesday March 21 from 4-7pm in the First United Methodist Church Mendota. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11am in the church with Rev. Mary Bohall officiating. Cremation will be accorded, and burial of ashes will be at a later date.

Kevin was born April 3, 1988 in Peru to Holly (Brady) Foltynewicz. He graduated Mendota High School in 2006. Kevin worked for most of the telecommunication companies finding Verizon Be Mobile his best fit, and for several years was their District Manager in Peru. Kevin was very active in the community serving first on the Mendota Chamber Board of Directors, Illinois Valley Area Chamber where he served terms as Ambassador, Vice President, and President. Kevin was honored in February of this year with the prestigious 2022 IVAC 40 under Forty award. He raised money and awareness with the Upper Illinois Valley Relay for Life and was a Member Co-Chair of the American Cancer Society Community.

Kevin will be forever missed by his parents Nick and Holly (Brady) Christman of Mendota, sisters Kelly Christman of Mendota, Emily Kelly of Princeton and Janelle Foltynewicz, brothers Eric (Amanda) Foltynewicz of Mendota, Nicholas Christman of Compton and Ryan Foltynewicz of Tonica, maternal grandmother Alice Brady of Spring Valley, paternal grandmother Diane Foltynewicz of Tonica, and waiting patiently by the door his best fur buddy Marshall. Kevin is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Nancy Vickrey and paternal grandfather Bob Foltynewicz.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Christman, Nicholas Christman, Eric Foltynewicz, Ryan Foltynewicz, Michael Dergance and Blake Frund. Memorials may be directed to the family to divide among Kevin's favorite charities. Condolences may be left at wasmerfuneralhome.com.
