On March 12, in his 69th year, Arthur (Art) Burns came to rest peacefully at Kingston General Hospital surrounded by friends and family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters Amanda (Stephen Griffin) and Stacey Burns as well as two grand-daughters Christine Lachapelle (Ben Haggerty) and Brooklyn Lachapelle (Allan Yateman). With much sadness, Arthur leaves behind his Mother (Rita), his brothers and sisters as well as many nieces and nephews. He is now joined with his father Robert and sister Linda.

Arthur cherished the friends he made while working for the City of Kingston from a young age, up until his retirement in 2012. Following his retirement he devoted a vast majority of his time to helping his family, and spending time with his loved ones.

At this time, Arthur's family would like to say thank you to the wonderful team of nurses and doctors at Kingston General Hospital, and especially thanks to the staff on Connell 10 for everything they did to keep Arthur comfortable during his last days.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
