Daniel K. Baldauf Obituary

Daniel K. Baldauf, 57, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the home of his sister, Deborah, surrounded by family. He was born in Erie on November 8, 1965, a son of Mary Ann Baldauf and the late James A. Baldauf.

He graduated from Mercyhurst Prep in 1984. Daniel went to Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I. where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts in 1989.

Daniel worked as a cook at numerous restaurants and clubs in Erie and at the Cake Carriage.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and hiking. He also loved cooking for his friends.

Daniel had a huge love for soccer and played all his life as well as always watching it. He played for Mercyhurst Prep and Gannon University. His favorite team was Liverpool F.C.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Lauren Baldauf of Phoenix, AZ; his sons, Ian and Aidan Baldauf, both of Erie; his brothers, James Baldauf (Jacqueline Pullos) of Salt Lake City, UT, and John Baldauf (Melissa) of Seattle, WA; his sisters, Deborah Kuhn (Michael) of Erie and Cynthia Baldauf (Erin Cook) of Pittsburgh; his dog, Myla; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, Pa 16504 on Thursday from 4 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 7 P.M. Burial will be private in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his sister, Deborah Kuhn, and Jacqueline Pullos for their care and going above and beyond for Daniel.
