<p>O. James “Jim” Augustine, 77, of Mifflinville, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.&nbsp; Born in Berwick on April 22, 1945, he was a son to the late Oscar I. and Emmaline M. (Butler) Augustine.&nbsp; </p><p>Mr. Augustine was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1963.&nbsp; He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Uhlman in the South China Sea.&nbsp; Jim was employed by the Fulton Lamp Company and by Berwick Offray, from which he retired.&nbsp; He was a dedicated member of the Berwick Salvation Army, having served as the Corps Sergeant Major.&nbsp; Jim enjoyed golf and bowling, and was a fan of all of the Philadelphia sports teams. </p><p>Surviving Jim are siblings: &nbsp;Wilbur Augustine of Buffalo, NY, Marqueen Naugle of Belton, SC, Margaret Fish of Mifflinville, and George Augustine and wife, Ruth, of Nescopeck, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. </p><p>In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his step-mother, Catherine A. Boone, and siblings:&nbsp; Robert Augustine, Ida Swank, Rena Parker, Frank Augustine, William H. Augustine, and Bess Austin, Gilda Slusser, and June Kittle; and step-siblings:&nbsp; Charles Armstrong, Shirley Keller, and Betty Benscoter </p><p>All are welcome to join Jim’s family for his funeral service 11 AM Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Berwick Salvation Army, 320 W. Second Street, Berwick, PA 18603.&nbsp; Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the service.&nbsp; Major Sheryl Hershey will officiate.&nbsp; Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick.&nbsp; Memorial contributions in Jim’s name can be made to the Salvation Army at the above address.&nbsp; The Kelchner, McMichael &amp; Readler Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the Augustine family.&nbsp; Online messages of comfort and support can be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com. </p>
