Carlton E. Patterson, Jr.

<p>Carlton E. Patterson Jr, of Akron, New York, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023. He was born in Lackawanna, NY on July 15, 1935 to the late Carlton and Imelda (Ball) Patterson. </p><p>Carlton grew up in Cowlesville prior to his family moving to Akron and establishing Patterson Farm Dairy. He worked on the farm and delivered milk to local residents. He went on to make his living as a professional truck driver working for local companies; Shisler Trucking, Perry’s Ice Cream, and Green Bros. He was also a bus driver at Alden Central Schools. During his driving career he and Gloria became owners of Patterson's Grocery in Alden. </p><p>He was a former Chief of the Crittenden Fire Department and is now an exempt member of the Akron Fire Company. Carlton served as an Eucharistic Minister at St. Teresa's church, and was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid sports fan, and sponsored many local teams under the Patterson's Grocery logo. He was also a proud supporter and season ticket holder of the Bills, Sabres, and Bisons. </p><p>Loving husband of Gloria (Aylsworth) Patterson; beloved father of Carl (Julie) Patterson, Deborah (Rick) Reiss, Rosemary (Darren) Gramza, Jeffrey (Marlene) Patterson, and Kimberly (late Robert) Kwiatkowski; cherished grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 21. Carlton is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved son, Tommy and two brothers, George and Thomas Patterson. </p><p>Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 4 - 8 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 10 AM. at St. Teresa’s Church, 5771 Buell Street Akron, NY (please assemble at church).&nbsp;<br> &nbsp; </p>

What a great man Carl was always a smile on his face and a friendly hello to anyone he knew.
He was friends and a coach with my dad for many years, we also spent time with Carl, Gloria and their kids in our younger years.
