Felix Lewis

<p>Felix Randel Lewis Jr. of Wooton, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, March 17th, 2023 at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 17 days. &nbsp;Felix was born in December of 1948 to the union of the late Felix G. Lewis and the late Martha Alice Wells Lewis. &nbsp;Felix spent most of his life as a resident of Leslie county Kentucky. &nbsp;Felix worked as a mechanic, a store clerk, a butcher, and a factory worker before beginning his career as a coal miner. &nbsp;Felix worked over 23 years as a proud coal miner for Blue Diamond Coal located in Leatherwood, Kentucky. &nbsp;Felix then spent the remainder of his 13 working years selling auto parts in Wooton and Hyden before retiring. &nbsp;Felix always spoke highly of the occupation of coal mining and the bonds and friendship that he had with fellow miners. &nbsp;Felix loved to learn and was always tinkering, experimenting, and reading to broaden his knowledge. &nbsp; Felix was preceded in death by his father Felix G. Lewis and his mother Martha Alice Lewis and three brothers, Lorenzie “ Rennie” Lewis, Roger Lewis, and John C. Lewis. &nbsp;<br> Felix is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 52 years Phyllis Lewis, Wooton, KY., one son Anthony Lewis and Edna of Northern, Kentucky., brothers Donnie Lewis &amp; Melva, Wooton, KY., Tim Lewis, Wooton, KY., sister Stephanna Shepherd &amp; Rick, Wooton, KY., sisters in law Mary Lewis, Hyden, KY., and Mary Grace Lewis, Wooton, KY., grandchildren Blake Kemper &amp; Brooke, Hyden, KY., Justin Kemper &amp; Heather, Corbin, KY., and three amazing great grandchildren Jaxtyn Kemper, Myles-Ryan Kemper, Waylon Kemper and a new baby girl that is on the way and a special niece Kelli Shepherd and special nephew Kade Shepherd. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives &amp; friends survive. </p><p>Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday at Wolfe and Sons Funeral home with Anthony Lewis and Roger Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Felix Lewis family cemetery at Wooton, Ky. The family will recieve friends from 12:00 noon Thursday until the funeral hour at the Funeral home chapel.&nbsp; </p><p>In lieu of flowers. Donations can be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators 57 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove Hazard, Ky 41701.<br> &nbsp; </p>
