Rachel Moana Kaiwi Kekona, 83 of Wailuku, Maui passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday March 11th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Moana was born June 16, 1939 to the late Albert and Rebecca Kaiwi of Kahakuloa Valley and worked for Pacific Construction and Maui Memorial Hospital before retiring from Wai'hee School.

She enjoyed bowling, golfing, singing, playing music and cleaning her little yard where she lived. Moana was predeceased by her husband Peter Moses Lakalokuheleloa Kekona Sr., her daughter SueSue Kekona and son Paul Kekona. She is survived by children Scarlett (Gary) Vinge, Uilani (Hi'ilei Cluney) Kekona, Malani (Joseph) Rodrigues, Evalyn Fernandez, Peter Kekona Jr., Peter Kekona III, Bronson Kekona, Brandon Gomes, hanai son Leonard Kekona Jr., 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Ballard Family Mortuary Kahului, 7:00am to 12:00pm; with prayer service to begin at 10:00am. Cremation to follow.
