Edward Ivan Peterson

Edward Ivan Peterson, 85, of Sparta, WI, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, Thursday, November 30, 2017, with his loving family by his side. Edward was born on the home farm on Fish Creek Ridge to Elmer and Ida (Paulson) Peterson. He attended Grand View School from 1st to 8th grade and graduated from Cashton High School in 1950. Ed was united in marriage to Ethel Marie Kerska on February 25, 1952. In 1954, they became life-long members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta. Ed’s working career encompassed a variety of jobs. From 1952-1979, he worked for Sparta Co-op Oil and Gas CO. He also worked there from 1992-1996. He and Ethel owned and operated Club 16 from 1979-1991. Every spring, ’97-2004, he worked at the Sparta Co-Op fertilizer plant. And each fall, from ’98-2007, he worked for Hableman’s Cranberry Marsh. Ed was very devoted to his church, Trinity Lutheran. He plowed the parking lot for 22 years; he faithfully spent every Friday in the office folding bulletins and his Sunday church attendance was extraordinary.
