Renu Elizabeth John, 64, resident of 117 Glenridge Circle, wife of Chacko John, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at her home.

Born April 15, 1958, in Mepral, Karala, India, she was a daughter of the late Ammini Varghese Raju and Palamittam C. Raju. 

She graduated High School and College in India and worked for a time with North Carolina National Bank (NCNB) in Durham.

A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, she was also a longtime volunteer with the Greenwood Soup Kitchen, and was an avid gardener, cook and quilter. She loved to cook and is well known in her friends’ circle for her culinary skills and hospitality.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Jacob John and wife Dee Dunagan of Seattle and Joshua John of Greenwood; a brother, Ranjit and wife Neena Raju of Charlotte; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Raji Manavath.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4 PM Saturday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Father Cor Episcopa Mathew Thomas, Edathara of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church of Augusta officiating.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 Saturday afternoon.
