<p>Ellen Jane (Ritter) Miller died on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born April 26, 1934, in Larwill, Indiana, to Orval B. and Lois I. (Hite) Ritter.</p><p><br></p><p>Ellen graduated in 1952 with honors from Avilla High School where she was active in 4-H and music.</p><p><br></p><p>She worked in Kendallville for No-Sag Spring Company as an office manager from 1953 to 1963 and Kraft Foods as secretary to plant engineer from 1964 to 1969. She then worked in Fort Wayne for Ryder Truck Rental as a controller from 1969 to 1984, a realtor from 1984 to 1990 and McCray Memorial Hospital in accounting until 1996. She loved office work and after her retirement, she handled collections from her home for a company in Columbus, Ohio for many years. She spent the winter in Sebring, Florida and would take her computer and fax with her and work from home there also.</p><p><br></p><p>Ellen will be remembered for her love of her family, church music, cooking and animals.</p><p><br></p><p>She was a member of the Open Door Community Church in Wolcottville where she was a church organist and a Sunday School teacher. She was also an associate member of the First Baptist Church in Sebring, Florida.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving are a daughter, Shelly Jo (Ed “Pork”) Waldron, of Albion; two granddaughters, Tammy (Don) Long, of LaGrange and Stacey (Earl) Leas, of Michigan; two grandsons, Chad Hoover, of Fishers and Joshua (Amelia) Zimmerman, of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin; ten great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews; her many friends including, Anita Mays, JoAnn Caulk, and Cris Cheneweth.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Melody Emrick; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty L. (Roy) Green; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred (Marsha) Ritter; two nephews, David Green and Jody Green; and her beloved dog, Sally.</p><p><br></p><p>Services will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 S. Ellen Jane (Ritter) Miller died on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.
