Judith Ann Jackman Orem, Utah Obituary

Judith Ann Jackman

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved children, on March 15, 2023 at her home in Lindon. Mother was born on November 7, 1943 in Glendale, California to Don Elden & Leah Mary Parker. She graduated from John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California in 1961. She then attended BYU where our dear father “tracted” her up on November 20, 1963.

Mother was the eldest of nine children. She was the family barber, hair stylist, and seamstress for many years. In 1970 she and her sister, Jenny, made 17 matching shirts for all the Parkers for Christmas. If they were to do that now they would need to make over 350 shirts!

On their first wedding anniversary Mother was in the hospital very sick with a tubal pregnancy. After emergency surgery the doctor told her it would be a miracle if she ever had even one baby. Her greatest desire was to be a mother so she and Daddy fasted and prayed for many years and finally they were blessed with seven little miracles.

Mother served in all the auxiliaries in the church. She even had her last three children while serving as Primary President to 220 children, the largest primary in the church at that time.

Mother loved spending time as a family camping and traveling around this beautiful country. A couple of her favorites trips were to Martin’s Cove and a thirty day trip to all the church history sites. She loved that trip and was so thankful to walk in the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Joseph Smith and learn more about our pioneer heritage.

One of Mother’s favorite things to do was listen to her family gathered around the piano singing. She loved attending the temple together as a family. After enjoying 54 wonderful years together, Our “DEAR” Daddy received an unexpected assignment Tuesday July 25, 2017 and as was his usual pattern, “Dropped Everything And Ran” to begin a new mission on the other side of the veil.

Mother is survived by her children, Sherri & (Darrell) Judkins, Scott & (Melody) Jackman, Mark Jackman, Amy & (Dan) Wager, David & (Angie) Jackman and her son-in-law Carl Tiede. She was adored by her 34 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Jennilyn & (Keith) Mauerman, Don & (Nancy) Parker, Beverly & (Steve) Chapman, Barbara & (Julio) Rodriguez, Kenneth & (Laurie) Parker, Leahmary & (Ballard) Pead, David & (Diane) Parker, Amelia & (David) Irwin and 65 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her eternal sweetheart LeGrand, her daughter Cindy, her angel baby, Julie, her great-grandson Zimon Howard, and her parents Don & Leah Mary Parker.

Funeral services will he held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1051 East 200 South Lindon, Utah 84042 on Saturday March 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
