Harrold, Thomas:

Thomas passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 09, 2023 at the age of 88.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Monique Marie Harrold.

Loving dad to Stephen Thomas Harrold and Ekaterina Tikunova.

Cherished grandpa to Niko.

He will be fondly remembered by his dearest friend of 70 years, Jack Pfeffer.

Those who knew him well will remember his quick-witted humour! His enjoyment of intellectual pursuits such as chess and Einstein's theories endured throughout his life. When he was younger, he was an avid and competitive golfer.

Thomas retired after almost 70 years as a global engineer, he specialized in industrial piping supporting projects in mining, atomic energy, breweries, and hydroelectricity.

He was proud of his homestead in the Orkney Islands of Scotland where his uncle Edwin established "Happy Valley", a lasting source of pride that was always near and dear to his heart!

Thomas's grandson Niko gave him immense pride and an extra sparkle in his eye for the remainder of his time!

Gude night, and joy be wi ye all, your harmless mirth has cheered my heart, may life's fell blasts oot oer ye blaw, in sorrow may ye never part. My spirit lives, but strength is gone, the mountain fires now blaze in vain. Remember, sons, the deeds I've done, and in your deeds I'll live again.

Cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate his life privately.
