Frank Elmer Cantrell, age 74, of Weaverville, passed away Wednesday March 15, 2023. He was born May 6, 1948, in Buncombe County to the late Claude and Paris Ray Cantrell.

Frank was a retired truck driver and a member of Faith Independent Church.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Davis Cantrell who died in 2005.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Maureen Wright and Marshell Shelton; sons, Mark Cantrell (Angela) and Marty Cantrell (Rhonda); sisters, Sheila Shepherd (Donald) and Vivian Carter; and brother, Donald Cantrell (Diane); 13 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 18, 2023, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Robert Reynolds, Steve Rhinehart, and Jerry Shelton will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Flowers are acceptable; for those who wish to make a memorial donation, the family asks that you consider St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
