Jacob "Jake" Boothe

<p>Jacob “Jake” Boothe, age 94 of Hamilton, passed away at Bethesda Butler Hospital on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Jacob was born in Slade, Kentucky on January 2, 1929 to Aaron “Floyd” Boothe and Nirvesta “Belle” Branson Boothe. Jacob served in the US Army from 1946 -1949.&nbsp; He was a part of the Big Red One Infantry Division, and during the cleanup efforts of WWII, he was assigned the duty of guarding the war prisoners in Nuremburg, Germany. On Veterans Day 2002, he received his High School Diploma at the age of 73, and was honored with Jacob Boothe Day in the city of Fairfield on November 12, 2002.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;On June 6, 1964 he married Ann Arnold, and he was married to her for 53 ½ years before she preceded him in death.&nbsp; Jacob worked for General Motors at the Fisher Body Plant for over 38 ½ years, retiring in 1987.&nbsp; He was very active in the UAW Union, holding various offices in both Union Local 233 and also the retirees chapter.&nbsp; Jacob was the President of the Sundowners Riding Club, he was a Kentucky Colonel, and also 4-H Horse Advisor for many years.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was also a member of the Hamilton Christian Center, serving as an usher for more than 30 years.&nbsp; </p><p>Jacob is survived by his loving daughters, Patsy (Rev. Rick) Roberts, Yvonne Tellup, Caryann (Doug) Patton, Tami Benge, and Jackie Couch; his grandchildren, Derek (Clare Riley) Tellup, Joel (Tara) Roberts, Hannah (Stan) Puckett, Rob (Tasha) Hibbard, Randall Patton, Taryn Patton, Jamie (Jared) Brady, Julie Benge, Jacob (Audrey) Proctor, George Benge, and Samantha (Tony) Keith; numerous great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; along with many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ann Boothe; and all of his 10 siblings, Earl Boothe, Ernest Faulkner, Vina Mitchell, Ola Baker, Vivian Townsend, Price Boothe, Mila Wilder, Minnie Harrison, Willard Boothe, and Betty Needham; and his son in laws, James Benge and Lance Couch.&nbsp; </p><p>Funeral service will be held at Hamilton Christian Center, 1940 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Rick Roberts and Rev. Tim Tice officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
