October 10, 1943 – March 6, 2023, Sharron “Sherry” Lynn Niemeyer-Joubert

Sherry passed away March 6, 2023, at the age of 79 in Lake Havasu City, AZ surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kimberly, NV on October 10, 1943 to Raymond Marr Hansen and Dorothy Hazel Hansen (Cobb). Her family moved to Brookings Oregon till her teenage year and then she moved to Oceanside, California where she graduated High School in 1961. She immediately started Cosmetology School one week later, she graduated from Cosmetology School March 30, 1962. school in Oceanside, CA. Sherry also served her country in the US Navy Reserves 1983-1986, and a very proud American.

She worked approximately for 5 years as a beautician, then became a full-time mom to 5 children. She ultimately decided to go back to school when her children were almost grown, and attended medical assistant school in 1981. She started her medical career at Mohave General Hospital (KRMC), as a X-ray technician, then while working there she went to Ultrasound Technician school. She then went on to work for OB Gyn doctors and was especially fulfilled by and rewarded by telling expectants parent what the gender of their child would be.

Sherry moved to Lake Havasu City in 1972 with her family. She was a Lake Havasu pioneer, she left Havasu in 1980, and moved to Kingman, AZ till 1983. She then moved to Lemoore, CA and decided to join the Navy Reserves. Sherry was a HM3 Hospital Corpsman Third Class. Sherry then moved back to Lake Havasu in 1985 and worked for the very well-known OB GYN’s Dr. Nelson, Dr. Rizos and Dr. Goodrich. She ultimately moved back to Southern California in 1995, and in 2006 she met Jim Joubert, and they were married two years later in 2008. They decided to move back to Lake Havasu City, AZ after she retired in 2009.

Sherry enjoyed sailing her Hobie Cat 16 in her early years in Lake Havasu, she competed in many regattas, and in 1977 She won the 14th annual London Bridge Regatta. In her later years in southern CA she enjoyed sailing to Catalina Island on her 36’ Islander. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for many years, and Women’s Bowling Association where she competed in many tournaments. She was a member of the Elks and also held the title of First Lady in 2013-2014. She was also a member of the Elks Vagabond RV club and traveled all over the United States.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Dorothy Hansen, her brother Jim Hansen, and her son Rick Niemeyer.

She is survived by her Husband James “Jim” Joubert, her daughter Mandy (Leo) Kamin of Kingman, AZ her sons Keith Niemeyer, Eric Brookshier of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Robert Niemeyer of Winston Salem NC, brother Tom Hansen of Brookings, OR, Nephew Mark Hinds of Overton, NV 8 grandchildren, and 13 Great grandchildren.
