<p>Harlene Leslie Richardson (Thompson) of Cottage Grove, Oregon passed away on November 7, 2022 at the age of 73. Harlene was preceded in death by her son, Jason Richardson; mother, Lola Whitmore (Patla); stepfather, Art Whitmore; father, Harlow Thompson and father-in-law, Delmar Richardson.</p><p><br></p><p>Harlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David Richardson; daughters, Shelly O’Reilly (Mike) and Jolene Richardson; two grandchildren, Justin and Amanda O’Reilly of whom she was so proud; in-laws Ruth, Diane, and Danean Richardson; niece, Shanna Kawalek (Victor); nephew, Bryan Hughes and multiple cousins, great nephews and nieces. Harlene is dearly missed by all her family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Harlene was born in Napa, CA in August 1949 and graduated from Montgomery High School, Santa Rosa, CA in 1967. She worked for many years as a paralegal and legal secretary for law firms throughout Sonoma County, CA. A life-time student, Harlene decided later in life she wanted a career in IT. She attended school, pursuing a new career working with computers. She later moved to Lane County, OR and worked for Symantec before retiring.</p><p><br></p><p>Harlene loved sewing, embroidering, taking pictures, Redwood trees, and spending time at the ocean. She enjoyed attending her grandchildrens' music concerts, her daughter, Jolene’s plays and anything that would bring family together. She was a thoughtful and caring person who would be the first to respond if someone needed help.</p>
