Harold Gene Gromley

<p>Harold Gene Gromley, 77, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, while a patient at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. He was born on April 19, 1945, to the late Lee Gilford and Jeanette Virginia (Connor) Gromley in Indiana, PA. He was a truck and heavy equipment operator known as “Casper” by other drivers. Harold married the love of his life, Thelma Kathleen Burr, on April 28, 1999, in Las Vegas, NV; Thelma survives him. He proudly served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion. Harold was also a member of the Brookville Firemen’s Club and the Roseville Independent Chapel. He was an avid driver and operated a racecar out of Hummingbird Speedway in Reynoldsville, PA. Harold was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, baseball, and hockey. Harold enjoyed spending time in nature and took every opportunity to do so, including hunting, fishing, working in his garden, or even mowing the grass. Harold was a kind man with many loving family members and friends who will miss him dearly. In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by one granddaughter; Renae Turner; one daughter; Kimberly Delp and her husband Jode; Jode’s three children: Celeste, Alessa, and Addison. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in passing by one son; Andrew; one brother; Harry; and one sister; Helen. Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 5pm to 8pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A second visitation will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 1pm to 2pm at the Roseville Independent Chapel, 3598 Route 322, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place immediately following the second visitation, beginning at 2pm and officiated by Pastor Jim Fillhart. Interment will take place at the Bethel – Geer Cemetery, Pinecreek, Jefferson Co., PA. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Roseville Independent Chapel.
